Police kick off October with a staggering amount of arrests.

Krugersdorp Cluster Police made a staggering amount of arrests during the first part of October.

Police arrested 146 suspects for a variety of crimes that included serious offences such as murder, attempted murder, rape, house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, fraud, theft out of a motor vehicle and common robbery.

30 suspects were arrested for less serious offences such as illegal immigration, possession of drugs and dagga, dealing in liquor without a licence and other liquor-related offences.

“Major General Mateisi, Krugersdorp Cluster Commander indicated that the successes were due to the perseverance and dedication of members in the cluster. There were a number of operations held during the week and that helped to increase the visibility of police officers in the sectors. She has expressed her satisfaction with the positive actions against crimes in the cluster and applauds the community for working hand in hand with the police,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, Krugersdorp Police spokesperson said.
