Three suspects between the ages of 18 and 24 were arrested for possession of implements suspected to commit house- and vehicle break-ins.
The suspects were apprehended and arrested on the R560 Hekpoort Road.
“Constable Siweya and Constable Msimanga alleges they were conducting their official patrols, and then saw three males carrying black plastic bags. They told the police they are from Pretoria. When asked where they were going, they failed to identify the name of the farm or place where they were going to,” Hekpoort police station spokesperson, Constable Gloria Maswanganye, commented.
Police then searched the plastic bags and discovered screw drivers, spanners and pliers. The suspects failed to give a valid reason why they were carrying the tools around.
“Police suspected they were going to use it for mischief, since they did not know the names of the farms in around Hekpoort nor could provide valid reasons for the tools. All three suspects were arrested and have made an appeared in court.”
