Cyclist rides into vehicle while checking cellphone

Members of a local Community Policing Forum rushed to a scene in Jorrison Street in Monument where a cyclist collided with a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle said the cyclist did not see the vehicle approaching as he was looking down, busy on his cellphone while riding his bike.

On arrival at the scene, Sector 3 and 4 members found the wounded cyclist after he cycled into a white Toyota Tazz and landed on the bonnet and windscreen of the vehicle.

ER24 was called to the scene to treat the man who sustained minor injuries.

He was later taken to Leratong Hospital for further medical treatment.
