Police showed no tolerance when they arrested a man who was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police arrested a 23-year-old suspect at around 2am one morning on the R563 Hekpoort Road.
“A police officer noticed a suspicious-looking black VW Golf parked on the side of the road. When he approached it the driver drove away towards the filling station,” Constable Gloria Maswanganye, Hekpoort Police spokesperson said.
Sergeant Greyling said he stopped the driver and asked to see his driver’s licence.
While checking the driver’s licence he allegedly could smell liquor on the driver’s breath.
Police arrested the man and took him to hospital to draw blood.
The driver later was released on bail.
