Parolee arrested for rape
Woman raped after assailant threatened to kill her.
A 24-year-old suspect threatened to kill a woman before raping her.
Hekpoort Police arrested the suspect for allegedly raping the 38-year-old woman at the Pokolo Farm in September.
The complainant alleged she was sleeping at her home and was awoken by the dog’s barking and the sound of a window breaking.
“When she got up to see what was happening, she saw a male known to her. When she asked him why he had broken the window, he told her to keep quiet and stop screaming, or else he would kill her,” Constable Gloria Maswanganye of the Hekpoort Communication and Liaison Service said.
The complainant further stated the suspect pushed her and committed an act of sexual penetration without her consent.
“Because her neighbours were playing loud music at the time of the incident, they could not hear her cries for help. The suspect left and told her that he would kill her if she reported him. The suspect was out on parole following a previous murder conviction.”
The complainant immediately reported the matter to the police and the suspect was arrested.
The suspect already made an appearance in court.
