227 arrested in a week

The dedication and commitment of the members led to all these great successes.

The Krugersdorp Cluster Police had a very successful week where 227 suspects were arrested for numerous crimes.

During the week of 19-24 October suspects were arrested for serious crimes like attempted murder and rape to less serious crimes like shoplifting and dealing in liquor.

Constable Rebecca Phithi, spokesperson for Magaliesburg SAPS, said police made these arrests throughout Krugersdorp while conducting their crime prevention duties.

During one of the days, police also encountered an armed suspect who shot at police. While returning fire, police fatally wounded the suspect.

Cluster Commander Major General Anna Mateisi said the dedication and commitment of the members led to all these great successes.

“Mateisi is delighted with the work the members are doing since they continue to work hard in the fight against crime,” Phiti said.
