A 42-year-old suspect was arrested earlier this month for allegedly committing house and business robbery at a plot in Tarlton.
“Police responded and on arrival at the premises police met up with the complainant who alleges that he, together with his employee, were at his tuck shop when three males entered the shop and pointed a firearm demanding money. He further alleges that his employee was also assaulted during the robbery,” Tarlton police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome said.
Police quickly followed up on the information received and managed to arrest one of the suspects involved in the robbery.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the complainant furthermore alleges the three suspects then targeted a house on the same property where they took three cell phones.
The 42-year old suspect has already appeared in court and is expected to make another brief appearance soon.
“The Station Commander of Tarlton police Lieutenant Colonel AM Molefi applauded the members for this arrest. We are still looking for the other two suspects; we want to ensure that we arrest them before they commit another crime,” Matome said.
Anyone with information that can lead to arrest of these suspects can contact Detective Constable Netshandama on 084 853 8872, Tarlton SAPS on 011 952 0012/13 or 086 001 0111.
