A fight between two men left one person dead, lying in the middle of the road.
A 53-year-old suspect was arrested for allegedly causing the death of another man around midnight in Swanieville on 8 November.
“It is alleged that on Saturday 7 November at about 9pm the suspect and the deceased got involved in a physical altercation. When police were called later to the scene, they discovered the deceased lying in the middle of the road,” Kagiso police spokesperson Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya explained.
The victim was bleeding profusely from a cut to the back of his head. The victim, who was in possession of a knife, was certified dead on the scene by the paramedics.
Next to the deceased the suspect was found lying on the ground and bleeding from an open wound sustained above his left eye.
The nature of the argument that led to the altercation is yet unknown as police investigations continue.
The suspect was arrested and made a brief appearance in court on a charge of murder.
