Job seeker robs resident
Suspect pretending to seek employment robs resident in town.
A suspect was arrested for common robbery in town after he pretended to look for employment.
The suspect approached a 52-year-old male in Krugersdorp’s CBD at lunchtime on 11 November pretending to look for a job.
“It is alleged that he pushed the complaint and took his cellphone from him and ran away. Police officers, who were conducting their normal patrolling duties, swiftly responded and managed to chase after the suspect and arrested him and retrieved the stolen cellphone found in possession,” Krugersdorp police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said.
The 32-year-old suspect was detained at Krugersdorp police station and is due to make an appearance in court soon.
“Communities are advised to be alert when talking to strangers and report any suspicious people and vehicles in their area.”
