Bridge flooded again as the heavens open up

Flooding under bridge again after much anticipated rainfall in Krugersdorp.

All the roads leading to the train bridge near the weekend robot intersection were closed last night after the heavens opened up with much needed rain.

Motorists had to find an alternative route as patrollers from Sector 8 Community Policing Forum closed off the intersection at Main Reef and Chamdor Roads late last night.

As a precaution, CPF patrollers closed off the bridge to prevent vehicles from getting stuck in the water that usually builds up in the lower part under the bridge.

After some two months of anticipation, heavy rain and soft hail started falling from around 8pm last night.

CPF wish to advise motorists to avoid this area in heavy raining conditions as this road has a tendency to always flood.
