Charity is their cup of tea

They supporting local charities by selling second-hand goods.

Charity work and supporting local organisations are We Care Multi Charity Shop’s cup of tea and they recently handed over their first round of funds.

Rentia van Zyl, founder of the We Care Multi Charity Shop in Ockerse Street in the Krugersdorp CBD, opened the shop’s doors in July.

The charity shop sells second-hand clothes, furniture, appliances and more in support of three chosen charities, Cradle of Hope, Westonaria SPCA and Itumaleng Orphanage in Muldersdrift.

Representatives from the charities and staff from the shop recently attended a high tea.

While enjoying sweet treats and tarts, each charity was handed a donation that was generated from selling of the second-hand goods.

Cradle of Hope representatives Georgina Caetano and Claire Knoetze attended the event and received R1 500 on behalf of their charity.

“Thank you so much to each person who has supported us by means of donations. We are looking forward to making a difference in others’ lives by selling one second-hand item at a time,” Rentia said.

As the festive season is approaching, Rentia asked that residents support the shop by donating their unwanted goods so it can be sold in aid of needy charities in and around town.

“Residents are also welcome to come do their Christmas shopping here. Who knows what treasures are to be found here.”

For more information or to donate, contact Rentia on 076 332 7186.
