A Krugersdorp West mother and son was arrested for stealing a vehicle in Tarlton.
A mother and son were arrested by Krugersdorp police after they were busted for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle and stolen property.
Police followed up on a tip-off and found the mother and son in Krugersdorp West on 19 November at 7am.
“It is alleged that the suspects stole the goods and a vehicle the previous day in the Tarlton area,” Krugersdorp Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale said.
The complainant said the suspects allegedly cut off the lock at a workshop to gain entry and stole the parts from the workshop.
On arrival at the property in Krugersdorp West, police found the stolen property inside their house along with the keys to the stolen vehicle.
“The owner of the property and the owner of the vehicle positively identified their recovered property as their own. Some of the stolen property included a fridge, paints, gas bottles, generator, tools box, grinders and a Toyota Hilux bakkie,” Mashale said.
The 23-year-old and his 42-year-old mother were detained at the Krugersdorp police station and will appear in court soon.
