Five suspects, all with previous arrests, were arrested yet again for being in possession of the dangerous drug, Nyaope.
Members of Magaliesburg Crime Prevention Unit, led by Constable Babedi, arrested the suspects aged between 21 and 25 for being in possession of drugs on 24 November at about 5.25pm.
“The officers were following up on information regarding a housebreaking and theft that took place at Ga Mogale earlier this month, when they received an anonymous tip-off that suspects were seen carrying a television towards a specific shack in that area,” Constable Rebecca Phithi, police spokesperson said.
The members went to the identified shack and searched it, but could not find any housebreaking implements or stolen items, but they did find drugs.
“Since no one claimed ownership of the drugs, the officers arrested all five men,” she said.
Magaliesburg Police are following up on information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen goods that allegedly were sold to a foreign national in Krugersdorp.
All five suspects will appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court soon.
