Sketchy details after vehicles collide
The accident occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday.
At around 2am on Sunday morning (6 December) three young men and a woman were involved in a serious accident on the R24 close to Waterfall plots in Tarlton.
A bystander who decided to stop next to the crash told of debris scattered over the road between the two vehicles that seemed to have collided.
“One car came to a halt right in the middle of the road and another on its roof. When I arrived, two people were still inside the red vehicle,” he said.
It is not yet known where the driver of the other vehicle was and if there were any serious injuries.

“I saw a crowd, but no emergency services, so I decided to pull over and help divert traffic. The police and ambulances only arrived about an hour after I showed up,” he explained.
Some bystander had by then already notified emergency services, and when two ambulances, Community Policing Forum members of Sector 5 member, a fire engine, police officers and security officers eventually showed up, he decided to leave.
“I’m not sure how they [the injured] are doing. I just asked the bystanders to stop trying to pull them out of the vehicle and wait for paramedics to help,” he added.
The two passengers were eventually freed. They were conscious but unable to move.
*Note: After more information came to light after the article was initially published the News learned that a total of seven people were injured, of which four were critical. According to police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome, some of the injured were still in hospital on Monday.
