[VIDEO] Driving through the seasons

A photo a day keeps this resident motivated as he shows the seasons of this year compiled in a video.

A local resident took a photo almost everyday of the same scene and compiled it into a fascinating video clip clearing showing the changing seasons.

Krugersdorp North resident, Ennes Steyn decided to take a photo every morning as he stopped at the Circle Road and Surrey Street stop street in Mindalore on his way to his workplace in Witpoortjie where he works as a layout artist for the Get It Joburg West magazine.

The idea came about when he and a colleague discussed how interesting it would look to see how the field changes as the season changes.

“Residents living on the West Rand are lucky as we have a beautiful nature setting in our backyards unlike the concrete jungles in the other parts of Johannesburg,” Ennes explained.

He chose to take photos in Mindalore as the stop intersection is not only somewhat quiet but also has a field on the opposite side of the houses in the street.

Every time Ennes would stop at the intersection on his scooter he would quickly take out his cellphone and snap a photo before heading off to work.

“There have been days where I didn’t take a photo especially when I see the residents coming out of their driveways. I did not want to intrude or give them a reason to call the police,” he jokingly said.

This past year Ennes took a total of 201 photos which he compiled into a 32 seconds video which showcases Mother Nature at her best.

“The most disappointing part of this project was when a whole year’s work resulted in only an half a minute long video clip.”

Ennes is looking forward to next year when he will be again photographing the same street but just further along in hopes to see another magical year of Mother Nature progressing right in front of his eyes.
