Lots of shops still closed

Key West might be open for business again, but where can you shop?

Although Key West Shopping Centre reopened it’s doors this week after a destructive hail storm, a lot of shops are still closed.

The News contacted the marketing team of the mall for an indication of the stores that are opening again soon and the statuses of the stores that remain closed following the storm of 9 January.

“After months of drought, we are forever grateful for the arrival of rain. Sadly, Krugersdorp experienced heavy downpours and hail, which damaged parts of the Key West. We are, however, glad to confirm that our stores are being refurbished at a rapid pace and most are trading again,” Melissa Greyling, Regional Marketing Manager for Mustard Seed, said.

Stores aiming to open tomorrow, 16 January, are:

· FAB Furniture

· Donna Claire

· Fantasia

· Capitec

· Burger King

· Ackermans

However Absa, Banjaara, Bata, CNA, Cum Books, Edgars, FNB, Foschini, Netbank, Sport Scene, Standard Bank, Total Sports and Truworths’ opening still need to be confirmed.

Key West’s management would like to invite all shoppers back and for regular updates on store openings and rebuilds, like the Key West Facebook page or visit www.keywest.co.za.
