School rush floods police certification desk

Police urges the community to visit the stations at certain times to certify documents needed by schools.

As schools opened recently, the amount of certifying paperwork has flooded police officers.

Police are flooded with certifying documents at the respective police stations and is calling unto the community to visit the stations at specific times.

“Parents, grandparents and guardians are requested to produce copies of numerous documents to schools when registering learners,” said police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale.

The Krugersdorp Cluster will be availing a special office or area in each of the seven stations in the cluster where documents will be certified. These stations are the Krugersdorp, Randfontein, Tarlton, Muldersdrift, Magaliesburg, Hekpoort and Kagiso stations.

“We are urging residents to come to the police station between 8am and 3.30pm,” she added.

These stations will be manned until all schools in the area are up and running.

It is important to bring the following documents with you when you want to certify a document:

• Your ID Book

• The original documents of which you have copies that needs certifying

• Make your own copies because the police does not provide you with copies

“This initiative was implemented to improve service delivery during the registration period,” Mashale concluded.
