Three of the most wanted arrested
Dedication of two Muldersdrift detectives led to house robbers' arrest.
The hard work of two dedicated detectives paid off as three of the criminals most wanted in Muldersdrift finally are behind bars.
The arrests came after a resident had a rude awakening when three armed men pointed firearms at him at around midnight early last December.
“The victim’s wife pleaded with the attackers to allow her to get her children from the other bedrooms, but they refused. One of them went upstairs to fetch the children. They tied all the victims’ hands and feet with electric cords,” explained Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, Muldersdrift Police spokesperson.
The armed men demanded household goods and money, and ransacked the house.
The suspects took all the electric appliances and jewellery, and quickly made a run for it.
Fortunately the man was able to untie himself and called the police. A case docket was opened.
Muldersdrift detectives Sergeant Manana and Constable Bambiso, with the assistance of members of the public and the Drift Reaction security company, worked around the clock to solve the case.
The three men were tracked down and arrested on 25 February and will be facing charges of house robbery.
Lieutenant Colonel KD Seabi, Muldersdrift Police Station commander, applauded the excellent investigative work done by the two detectives.
