Watch: Bougee the Bougainvillaea brings smiles to Krugersdorp

What started with a stolen pot has blossomed into a viral community story, as The Potfather and Bougee the Bougainvillaea bring humour, kindness and smiles to residents.

A potted bougainvillaea on Paul Kruger Avenue in Monument has become an unexpected local sensation, thanks to Richard Oosthuizen, better known as ‘The Potfather’.

Dubbed Bougee the Bougainvillaea, the plant became the star of a viral CCTV video series after its pot was stolen and later returned. Richard and his family decided to share the footage online, turning the unusual incidents into a light-hearted story that has captured the community’s attention.
