Hijacking suspects drive a silver BMW

Police said the suspects pointed a firearm(s) at the woman.

New details have come to light following the hijacking incident involving an allegedly pregnant woman.

The News reported that the woman was hijacked on Robert Broom Drive on Wednesday, 15 March, and was pointed with a firearm(s) and instructed to get out of her vehicle by three men who emerged from a silver BMW, police said.

The woman was allegedly cornered close to the R28 off-ramp towards Robert Broom Drive. Her bakkie was then taken and she was left to walk to a nearby shopping centre where tenants called the police and the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum, the News previously reported.

“She did as instructed and they drove off with her vehicle. No shots were fired and no serious injuries were reported,” said police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale.

Later on the same day the vehicle was recovered about four kilometres away from the scene and the woman’s money and cell phone were stolen out of the car.

The News previously reported that four suspects approached the woman. It is not clear if the fourth suspect was instead the driver of the silver BMW and if the BMW was left at the hijacking scene.

“Krugersdorp police is appealing to the community to assist with information that can assist the investigating officer to arrest the suspects,” she said.
