Baby uninjured after car rolls

Five passengers were involved in the accident, but only three sustained minor injuries.

Three passengers, including a baby, sustained zero to minor injuries after a car rolled on the N14 yesterday (18 May) at about 3pm.

The driver and his son were left unharmed, while three other passengers sustained minor injuries.

West Rand Emergency Services helped the family of five to safety while Mogale City Traffic Officials cordoned off part of the road, causing traffic congestion just before the Muldersdrift turn-off.

The driver, who spoke to the News at the scene, said he heard a loud noise when his car suddenly swerved out of control. He hit the embankment and rolled multiple times before coming to a standstill. It is believed that a mechanical fault in the car could be to blame.

Miraculously, the baby that was also in the car, sustained no injuries. One of the traffic officials agreed that the driver is very lucky and that it was a miracle that no one was seriously hurt.

The News understands that the white Volkswagen was the only car involved in the accident.

By 4pm, the scene was cleared and the three passengers were taken to hospital where they received further medical care.
