Road block yields R50 000 dagga

Police arrested the suspect who was in possession of the marijuana.

A minibus (taxi) passenger was arrested during a road block when he was found with R50 000 worth of marijuana, police said.

During the road block on Wednesday (18 May) on the corner of the R24 and R509 in Magaliesburg, the 39-year-old suspect was caught with the black bag on his way from Johannesburg to Rustenburg.

Magaliesburg police Station Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Julla, led the crime prevention operation alongside officials from Mogale City Traffic Department.

Julla urged the community to help prevent drug trafficking by informing the police about any suspicious activity. Call the Crime Stop Tip off line, albeit anonymously, on 08600 10111 or call the station on 014 577 5100.
