Voters cast special ballots at Laerskool Kenmare ahead of election day

Kenmare residents experience short queues and friendly staff as special voting opens ahead of main election day.

With local government elections under way across the country, special voting opened quietly at Laerskool Kenmare today, November 3.

The voting station saw steady proceedings with no queues, according to councillors present at the gate.

Local issues take centre stage

Resident Cathy Beukes cast her special ballot today, noting that service delivery challenges make participation essential.

She believes the biggest service delivery challenges include the reliability of water and electricity supplies, as well as a lack of communication.

“The experience of voting was certainly quick and easy, and the people were very friendly. Voting is the right thing to do. You cannot complain about service delivery if you don’t vote,” she said.

She encouraged residents to visit their voting stations tomorrow, as everyone wants a better future.
