R80 000 worth of groceries stolen

The suspects have already appeared in court.

R80 000 worth of groceries were stolen from local’s spaza shop n Tarlton, police said.

When the business owner opened his shop in early May, he saw that his shop was broken into and that grocery items were stolen. After investigating and following up with the community, police arrested two 29-year-old men in Matshelapad Informal Settlement, where they also found some of the stolen goods.

According to police spokesperson, Constable Lucky Matome, the case is being investigated as a business burglary.

“Both suspects have already made brief appearance at the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court,” he said.
