Diamonds were made in Krugersdorp

A group of individuals met for a life-changing workshop.

A group of people from all walks of life met at a local coffee shop for a life-changing workshop … and some good coffee.

The group of people, which included girls from the Cradle of Hope women’s shelter, a cucumber farmer, a councillor, a community leader and a journalist, attended the Bright Star workshop presented by local motivational speaker and facilitator, Ronèl Black.

Ronèl is known for her work at the Cradle of Hope where she works as a recovery and empowerment strategist. She is currently completing her Masters’ degree in psychology.

She lives by the quote of Mark Twain, “The two most important days of your life are the day you are born and the day you discover why”.

The workshop ran over a three-day period at Ana Paula’s coffee shop in Monument, where the group learned more about themselves in a beautiful setting.

The first session kicked off with Ronèl teaching the group the importance of knowing their values and priorities and how this could better influence their life’s purpose.

By the second session, the members of the group were getting used to each other and started interacting and role-playing with the themes on hand. In this session, the group learned about relationships, emotions and conflict resolution. They also learned about self-worth and how to polish their “own diamonds” as Ronèl would say.

By the last session, the group was excited, yet sad as they were meeting for the last time.

The outcome of the workshop was clear – attendees received the keys to leadership, acquired life-skills, and also vowed to work towards improving themselves and the influence they have in their communities.
