Community and nature meet
A herd of horses steals the show at this year's Kloof Walk with the local CPF.
Tucked away in rural Noordheuwel, a gravel road leads to a tranquil setting where nature and suburbia meet.

Members of the community met Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF) patrollers at the Noordheuwel Lapa on 21 May for their annual Kloof Walk.
Last year participants walked from the starting point at the lapa all the way to the Manie Mulder Adventure Centre’s waterfall and back, which is a total of two kilometres.
This year, the sixth year of the Kloof Walk, the CPF decided to tone down the walk a little by inviting the community not only to walk, but also enjoy a picnic in the beautiful kloof.

Ninety-three hikers registered for the walk, among them children, parents, grandparents and their beloved pets.
Children enjoyed the grassy open spaces where they ran, jumped and played to their hearts’ content.

The horses in the kloof felt somewhat left out and came to greet the hikers. Giggling children and patrollers connected with the animals by petting them.
“This year’s walk was very relaxed,” said Sector 8’s public relations officer Len Coetzer.
