Nigerian dealer takes a bad knock
Local dealer takes a knock after being caught red-handed while packaging a staggering quantity of heroin.
The Krugersdorp police K9 unit hit the jackpot again after they caught a drug dealer and his accomplice red-handed while they were packing drugs for resale.
The K9 unit followed an alleged druggie into a local drug house in Luipaard Street on 27 May, where they got more than they bargained for.
After searching the young man, they arrested him and confiscated the four bags of heroin he had in his possession.
Whispers coming from another room attracted their attention and upon investigating, they found a well-known Nigerian drug dealer and an accomplice busily packing drugs.
The police found a staggering quantity of heroin, empty packets and other drug paraphernalia on the bed.
Ninety-three packed bags of heroin, plus 20 unpacked bags of heroin, were found and confiscated.
Police also found approximately 6 grams of heroin on a plate – they believe this was ready to be cut and packaged.
The drug user, drug dealer and the accomplice were all arrested, taken into police custody and booked into the cells for the weekend.
The street value of the confiscated drugs is estimated at more than R3 500.
The three suspects are expected to make a brief appearance in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on 30 May.
