A “rapist, house robber and burglar,” was recently convicted and sentenced to 38 years’ imprisonment in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court, police said.
Thembelani Ncube, 29, and two other suspects charged with similar crimes, still have other cases pending against them.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya, said the man was convicted of crimes he had committed between 2011 and 2014.
“One of the incidents in 2013 was the attack on a 45-year-old victim in her home. She was asleep in her bedroom in Nooitgedacht when three unknown armed men entered her house and held her at gunpoint. Regardless of her pleas, Ncube first raped her and then doused her with a kettle of boiling water. The victim sustained severe injuries,” Ngwenya said.
The hard work of the investigating officer, Sergeant Sam Manana, resulted in the arrest of Ncube in early June.
