[WIN] Many sides of the humble carrot
The carrot is a versatile veg that can be used in many shapes and forms.

Did you know that the humble carrot is related to parsnips, fennel, parsley, anise, caraway, cumin and dill?
Packed with vitamin A, this crunchy root vegetable is very versatile and is perfect for adding colour and texture to any summer salad. However, it’s just as versatile in winter when added to stews or roasted with honey and thyme.
Raymond Petrowski, store manager of Food Lover’s Market Krugersdorp, shares some tips on the best ways to keep carrots tasty, fresh and crunchy for longer:
• Wash carrots, cut off the tops and store in the refrigerator to ensure longevity.
• Store carrots in a plastic bag to stay crispy for longer.
• If the carrots appear to go off, they can be restored to crispness by soaking them in cold water.
