Winter knights combating winter nights

The homeless of Krugersdorp were surprised with blankets and soup on Tuesday.

Following on from the collection of food and blankets at President Hyper in May and June, the Winter Knights set out to distribute the items to those who need it most – those living on the streets this winter.

The Winter Knights is a national project in which Round Tables support local communities by giving to those in need. This event takes place every winter, and the community is urged to get involved.

The team set out to the Krugersdorp area and from there spread out to surrounding areas to hand out blankets and soup, and with a cold front set to hit Gauteng this weekend, it seemed only fit to hand out the blankets sooner rather than later with the assistance of the local police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit.
