Want to play a real game?

A new sensation is taking over town. Participants are encouraged to put down their cellphones and pick up a real game.

Erik Dryer of Meeting Meeples believes he has the solution for boredom.

The local resident from Quellerie Park guarantees a real gaming experience, leaving behind the boring board game classics you will find in your cupboard at home.

A few residents recently had the opportunity to test out the Meeting Meeples experience at a local church hall in Wishart Street.

“What is a Meeple? It is a small wooden object that represents the player on the board of a modern board game. At Meeting Meeples we play American- and European-style games, cooperative games and classic games. Some games are just for two while others are team-orientated. Other games include pool, darts, Möllky, fingerboard and many more,” Erik explained.

At this stage, Meeting Meeples fans meet on Sundays, with additional Wednesday games days during the school holidays.

Coffee, snacks and drinks are for sale to keep the hungry gamers at ease while they go head-to-head for the various prizes available on each occasion.

“Unplug yourself for a while from your phone, television, and computer and join Meeting Meeples in the church hall at 61 Wishart Street.”
