Mug and Tree needs your help

Mug and Tree is trying to further assist the abused and neglected children of Krugersdorp.

The Mug and Tree Community Care Child Development Centre, with the help of the Nakani Watts law firm, are trying to raise R400 000.

Mug and Tree aims to meet the needs of neglected children of all ages from Burgershoop and Apple Park in Krugersdorp West. They provide 250 meals a day to about 80 families.

Mug and Tree is trying to raise enough money to purchase the property they are currently using as a soup kitchen, as well as the property behind their centre. They are planning to convert the property into a safe haven where children can stay overnight if they feel threatened.

Mug and Tree generates their funds through the sale of second hand clothes, furniture and appliances, and often receive food donations from the community.

On 30 July, the Nakani Watts team will be hosting an event to show the children a good time, with jumping castles and face painting.

If you would like to find out more about Mug and Tree, or if you would like to assist them in their fundraising endeavours, contact Geoffrey Swanepoel on 011 326 1521 or 082 436 2260.
