Death at a local shelter

An elderly homeless man drew his last breath at a local shelter.

Friends at a local shelter were all shocked to learn that one of them took his last breath this morning, 19 July.

Police and paramedics were called to the Tower of Life Shelter after John Million passed away.

“There is a man who died at the shelter in Krugersdorp CBD in the early hours of this morning, the man, as far as I know, do[es] not have any relatives,” a message to the News read.

The News contacted the founder of Tower of Life, Gert Jonker, who confirmed the death.

John Thomas Million, 64, was sadly pronounced dead after spending the night at the shelter.

John was a regular at the shelter for nearly a year and enjoyed a hot shower, a healthy meal and a warm bed each night.

It is believed that John had recently visited a local hospital for medical treatment for an illness but was discharged.

Although rumours suggested John had a self-inflicted stab wound to the neck, Gert confirmed he passed due to the fragile state of his health.
