Scooter driver causes ‘mini’ accident
A scooter driver was injured while drinking and driving.
A motorcyclist on a scooter was injured after drinking and driving on Albertina Sisulu Road late yesterday afternoon.
Sector 4 patrollers were called to the scene after a scooter collided with a Mini Cooper yesterday, 20 July, at about 6.20pm.
Eyewitnesses on the scene said the driver of the scooter lifted his helmet to take a sip of his cold drink and then collided with the Mini Cooper.
Patrollers helped regulate and control the traffic as a State ambulance made its way to the scene.
The driver was treated on the scene for head injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
Fortunately the driver of the Mini Cooper escaped with minor injuries.
