Counting reaches halfway mark
A quick look at the elections results so far.
Officials are just passed the halfway mark in counting the ballot papers from yesterday’s local government elections.
The preliminary results for Mogale City as it stands at 1.15pm:
• In the district elections, 46 170 votes have been counted and the ANC is leading with 46,90 per cent, while the DA is not far behind with 37,04 per cent.
• In the local elections, 46 270 votes have been counted, and the ANC is leading with 47,82 per cent, while the DA is not far behind with 36,24 per cent.
