Krugersdorp High School’s (KHS) Deputy Principal, Sharon Green, is celebrating her 40th anniversary at the school.
Sharon joined the staff of KHS in 1976 and has had many memorable experiences since then. She has attended 39 matric farewells, and many school tours, both domestic and international.
“Every day is a highlight. I look forward to getting to class, greeting staff and pupils along the way, and of course, challenging the pupils to give their best.”
In her 40 years at the school, she has become involved in every aspect, and is loved by both past and present pupils.
In addition to being very involved with the day-to day-running of the school, and ensuring that the well-being of pupils is maintained, she loves having the opportunity of attending past pupil reunions.
One of her past pupils, Percy Makholwa-Ntslinga, said, “The greatest thing that Miss Green taught me was that in the arena of my life there will be spectators; some will laugh and cheer and some will be sympathetic, but no one is as important to my life as I am, because this is my life and it is up to me to turn it into a failure or a success”.
When asked what her philosophy on education is, Sharon stated: “My philosophy is to be the best that you can be; my ultimate lesson: stand up for yourself and never allow anyone to sit on you”.
