A 66-year-old man who could not explain the exact origins of the car that was found in his yard, was arrested on Monday, 8 August after police discovered that the car had been stolen.
The car, a VW Polo, which was found to have been involved in the robbery of a business in Roodepoort was riddled with bullet holes, and the left rear window was shattered.
Although he was in possession of the car keys, the man told police that the car belonged to his son who had not been home since July.
The Kagiso man was arrested and is due to appear at court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
