Man airlifted from N14 collision
Paramedics requested the assistance of an emergency medical helicopter to airlift the man to Milpark Hospital for further care.
A 47-year-old man was airlifted from the N14 highway in Muldersdrift after his vehicle crashed through the centre median into oncoming traffic.
Shortly before 3pm yesterday (18 August), paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the man’s Toyota Hilux between the trees on the opposite side of the highway. Two other damaged vehicles were found on the side of the road.

“It is understood that the man might have experienced a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle. He crashed through the centre median near the Beyers Naudé Drive offramp and collided with two vehicles traveling towards Pretoria. Bystanders on the scene explained that they rushed over to the man in the vehicle and found that he was blue in the face. They managed to get him out of the vehicle and provided basic first aid,” Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson, said.
Paramedics requested the assistance of an emergency medical helicopter to airlift him to Milpark Hospital for further care.
No-one else was injured in this collision.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known. Mogale City Traffic Department officials also attended the scene.
