How to beat stress

We all experience it at some point or another, and it's important to know how to cope with it.

We have all experienced stress at some point or another, be it positive or negative. With month-end around the corner, here are some tips for coping with everyday stresses.

Feeling nervous, emotional, being tired and having a lack of an appetite are all possible side effects of stress.

Here are some tips for overcoming stress, or reducing the impact it has on you:

• Reduce your consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine

• Reduce your intake of refined sugars

• Participate in physical activities

• Get more sleep

• Try to relax using meditation and self-hypnosis

• Talk to someone about what is going on

• Keep a stress diary to keep note of situations that cause you a great deal of stress

• Take control of the situation

• Manage your time more efficiently

• Learn to say “No”

• Take a break and rest, especially when you begin to feel unwell
