Muldersdrift commemorated in print

Muldersdrift is 150 years old, and a book has been written to honour the town.

Shenan Cochrane, a Muldersdrift resident, has written a book that documents the 150 years of the town’s existence.

The book covers everything about the development of the area from open fields to the state that it is today, from the highway collapsing to the building of the casino.

The book also shares details about the main families that settled in the area way back when, as well as local personalities that help to bring the history of the area to life.

Shenan, who has owned and run the Cradle News newspaper for 14 years and is affiliated with various community organisations, was in the ideal position to research and interview people for the book, as she already knew the community and many of its residents.

The book will be sold at the Avianto Estates shop in Cradlestone Mall, as well as many other book stores.

For more information, or to order a copy of the book, you can contact the Cradle News on 083 510 4745.
