Charity donates to Mc Alpine’s widow
‘Things like this remind me that there are still good people in the world’
The official handover of a cheque to the widow of Kevin Mc Alpine, one of the victims of the recent triple murder in Krugersdorp, was held at San Deme Restaurant on Saturday, 3 September.
Mc Alpine was murdered on 26 May, three days after he and his expectant wife celebrated their first wedding anniversary. His body was later found in the boot of his car.
Their son, Daniel was born on 5 August.

Silver Wishes, a charitable organisation, hosted a fundraiser in honour of the Mc Alpine family. The funds collected were handed over to Kezia Mc Alpine, Kevin’s wife, on Saturday. Deon Swanepoel, chairperson of Silver Wishes says the organisation aims to deliver what it promises.
“We do things like these not because we can, but because we care,” Swanepoel said. “A person still has pride even though he may have fallen.”
Kezia also received a hamper from President Hyper, a biltong basket from Groenkloof Butchery, and the most memorable of all – a handmade baby blanket made by a warm-hearted woman from Norienes. Groot FM also donated all Daniel’s nappies and a carrycot.
“I am speechless,” said Kezia. “Things like this remind me that there are still good people in the world.”
Adele de Beer, a Mrs Africa 2016 finalist, also attended the handover. “Please stay strong,” she said to Kezia, wishing her the best for her and her baby’s future.
