Thapelo gets new wheels
During the Casual Day festivities, Thapelo received a brand new wheelchair.
The Key West amphitheater was brought to life on Friday 2 September, as the community came together to celebrate Casual Day.
Casual Day is South Africa’s foremost fundraising campaign for persons with disabilities and is the flagship project of the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa (NCPPDSA). This year, various companies teamed up for a fun-filled day at Key West Shopping Centre.
The dancers from WRAPD performed for the crowd, and showed everyone there that anything is possible.
Afterwards, everyone was invited to dance on stage, and participate in games to win prizes that ranged from Spur and Mozambik vouchers to a bursary from Boston City Campus.
The day continued on a high note, after Mrs Africa finalist Adele de Beer presented little Thapelo Mogoli with a brand new wheelchair, courtesy of Wheelchairs on the Run.
The chair, which is noticeably a bit too big for Thapelo at the moment, will be stored at the West Rand School until he is big enough to use it.
