She’s more than just a pretty face

Scholar, model, actress and business owner – all at the tender age of 17.

While most high school pupils wait until they’ve finished university before pursuing a career, Anrike de Vos has taken the bull by the horns and established her own company – at the age of 17.

This Monument High School pupil first started modelling four years ago, with Figures Models. From there she went on to doing freelance work, and has done quite a few shoots with various photographers

“In the beginning I did fashion shows, but became more successful in the other areas of modelling, so I am putting ramp modelling on hold – for now. I absolutely love modeling, it’s my deepest passion.

It is very hard work but nonetheless I would love to make a career out of this industry,” Anrike said.

She started doing promotions last year for a well-known and successful company.

“While working for a few promotion companies, I identified opportunities where I could cater for clients on a different level, and that’s where An’s Promotions originated. My business is doing very well – I have always had my mind set on business, and the obvious path for my tertiary education will be a degree in business,” she said.

After being ‘dragged’ by a friend to be an extra in the movie Vaselinetjie, she realised how much she likes being on set. She told the News:

“It sparked a feeling in me; I would love to try out acting and experience it on a higher level”.
