Dan the blues man in town
Dan Patlansky will be in town on Thursday and Friday.
Having successfully launched his latest studio album, Introvertigo in South Africa and Europe after its worldwide release on 6 May, Dan Patlansky is back in South Africa. He performed in 26 shows in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK during May and June.
Dan used his personal life experiences as inspiration for the album, ultimately marrying good songs with great guitar-playing. The album has been received with critical acclaim both here and abroad.
The prestigious British Blues Awards recently nominated Dan in the category for Best Overseas Artist. This adds to the long list of accolades he has received in the international press. These include being voted #4 among the Best Rock Guitarists In The World by Total Guitar magazine (December 2015), being named Male Artist of the Year by Blues & Soul magazine (December 2015) and being included in the Top 20 Rock Artists by The Blues Magazine (December 2015). Dan was also nominated for Best International Solo Artist at the Planet Rock Radio’s The Rocks awards in February.
Dan is starting his solo acoustic tour this week and will be performing in Magaliesburg and Muldersdrift soon, featuring special guest artist Dave Ferguson at Muldersdrift.
On Thursday 22 September, he will perform at Die Ou Pastorie in Magaliesburg. Tickets are R150, and the show starts at 8pm. Bookings can be made at res@dieoupastorie.com or by calling 012 207 1027.
