Update: Pakistanis arrested for unlicensed firearm
During the investigation the police recovered a 9mm pistol and a fully loaded magazine.
Shortly after arresting two suspects for interfering with a police investigation, Kagiso police made a shocking discovery. They arrested an additional two Pakistani nationals after finding an unlicensed firearm and 15 rounds of ammunition in their possession on Tuesday, 4 October at noon.
Kagiso police allegedly received a complaint that the suspects were in possession of the firearm. Members of the Crime Intelligence Task-team went to the given address soon after receiving the tip-off. The foreign nationals were inside a shop in Tshepisong Extension 5 and identified themselves as Pakistani when approached by police. During the investigation, the police recovered a 9mm pistol and a fully loaded magazine.
Neither of the suspects acknowledged ownership of the firearm, which resulted in them both being arrested.
They were detained at the Kagiso Police Station and will appear in court for a brief hearing soon.
Kagiso police urge residents of the area to register and license their firearms to avoid conviction.
