A man lost his belongings when a fellow resident burnt his shack down in Kagiso.
The complainant said that he saw his younger brother running towards him to inform him that his shack was on fire and that’s when he ran back home – only to discover that his shack had burnt to ashes.
The complainant’s younger brother had noticed the suspect leaving the shack through a window shortly before the shack burnt down. This made it easy to identify him when police looked for him and finally arrested him on Sunday, 20 November.
The 45-year-old man will appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court soon, on charges of arson.
