Women’s union supports vulnerable children in Krugersdorp

Care packages bring comfort to young people in difficult situations.

The Vrouelandbou-unie, or Women’s Agricultural Union in English, hosted its year-end function on Tuesday, October 27, at Krugersdorp Bowling Club to celebrate its milestones throughout the year.

The organisation also took time to give parcels to an organisation that primarily aids vulnerable children.

Comfort parcels for children

According to the organisation’s public relations officer, Ronel de Greeve, the group will hand over 133 parcels to Matla a Bana to help children as part of its initiative.

“The contents are carefully selected to help calm and comfort the children and give them a little courage during what can be a very difficult situation,” Ronel said.

The union is a dynamic, non-profit women’s organisation focused on adult education, personal growth, skills development and local community outreach.

The organisation has seven branches in areas such as Roodepoort, Westonaria and Krugersdorp.
