Kagiso woman arrested for stealing designer shoes
When the officers searched the suspect, they found 13 pairs of shoes attached to her body.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested at a clothing store in Kagiso Mall on Saturday, 21 January after she allegedly had stolen multiple pairs of designer shoes.
At about 1.45pm Kagiso Crime Prevention members received a complaint of shoplifting in a well-known shop in the mall. They deployed officers to the scene where security guards handed the alleged shoplifter over to them.
The guards allegedly told the officers that the suspect was apprehended just before she left the shop. She was caught when a security tag triggered the security gates as she tried to exit the shop with an item she did not pay for.
When the officers searched the suspect, they found 13 pairs of shoes hidden under her clothing. She was arrested and the matter was reported to the Kagiso Police. The suspect was taken to Kagiso Police Station where she was detained and a case docket of shoplifting was opened. She is expected to appear in the Kagiso Magistrates’ Court.
