Taxi driver senselessly murdered
Upon arrival, the team saw a white Toyota Rav 4 taxi in the driveway of the deceased's home.
A 48-year-old taxi driver was murdered at his place of residence on Tuesday, 17 January at about 7.15am.
It is believed the Kagiso Police received a complaint of a shooting in Kagiso Extension 12 at that time and deployed their Crime Prevention team to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found a white Toyota Rav 4 taxi in the driveway of the deceased’s home. They investigated the scene and found multiple gunshot holes in the rear right door of the taxi.
They discovered the deceased’s body in the vehicle. He was declared dead shortly afterwards, by paramedics on scene. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The motive for his murder is not yet known, but police investigations are continuing.
