Boys stab a man for his bag

The suspects were taken to Kagiso Police Station and charged with robbery and assault.

Two boys, both 16, were arrested on Wednesday, 17 January at about 10.55am after traffic officials allegedly caught them assaulting and stabbing an unknown man.

Mogale City Traffic Department officers were patrolling the R41 when they noticed the two suspects beating the man. The officers approached the suspects and noticed they were in possession of knives and were also stabbing the man. It is believed the suspects robbed the victim of his bag.

When the suspects saw the officers approaching, they fled the scene on foot. The officers chased them and apprehended one of them.

Kagiso Extension 13 community members assisted in apprehending the second suspect by chasing and catching him.

After the suspects were apprehended it was discovered they had stabbed the victim in his head and his right leg. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The suspects were taken to Kagiso Police Station and charged with robbery and assault. They were later transferred to Walter Sisulu Child and Youth Care Centre in Johannesburg.

The victim’s bag was recovered and returned to him.
